EXCLUSIVE: Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk disclose original titles for Bad Newz and reveal their favorite
Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk are joining forces for Bad Newz, a comedy film sure to bring laughter to many. Directed by Anand Tiwari and co-produced by Karan Johar, this movie serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Good Newwz.

Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk recently joined Pinkvilla at a gaming zone in Mumbai for a fun session and interview. When asked about their favorite title among the previous options for Bad Newz, the Sam Bahadur actor shared, “For me, Bad Newz, and I’m not just saying that to be politically correct.”
Explaining his choice, he mentioned, “We collectively agreed that the idea of a spiritual sequel has a better narrative than simply being a sequel to Good Newwz. The film revolves around pregnancy and humor, much like Good Newwz, making it a seamless continuation in spirit.”
Furthermore, Kaushal revealed that other titles like Raula and Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam were considered but ultimately, “Bad Newz” was chosen for its clarity and connection to the film’s comedic essence.
Describing the movie as a full-fledged entertainer suitable for all audiences, Vicky emphasized that viewers can expect two hours of pure fun with their loved ones.
Ammy Virk shares his preferred title for Bad Newz
In the same interview, Ammy Virk expressed his satisfaction with the final title, “Bad Newz.” He recalled being elated upon hearing the name while shooting in Punjab and deemed it a perfect fit for the film’s tone and theme.
Vicky added a playful note by mentioning that although bad news is usually delivered somberly, their film aims to bring a smile to viewers’ faces with its comedic content.
Ammy Virk praises Shah Rukh Khan as a role model
Ammy Virk also shared his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, describing him as an exceptional human being and expressing a desire for actors to emulate his humility and kindness. He emphasized that SRK’s persona serves as a model for aspiring actors to prioritize being genuine and compassionate.
In addition to the main cast, Bad Newz features Neha Dhupia and is scheduled for theatrical release on July 19, 2024.
