Anurag Kashyap in discussions with musician-actor GV Prakash Kumar for an upcoming 8-episode thriller web series.
Anurag Kashyap, who has been showcasing his acting skills recently, is set to collaborate with GV Prakash in his upcoming project. According to a source, Pinkvilla has learned exclusively that the musician-actor will work with the master director on an 8-episode web series.
Kashyap and GV Prakash have been discussing a collaboration since December 2023. After exploring a few ideas, they are now gearing up to team up for a thrilling series.
The official announcement of the series is expected to come after GV Prakash’s pan-Indian project, Kingston, is released in the latter half of 2024. In the meantime, Anurag Kashyap is also involved in several other projects.
For those unfamiliar, Anurag Kashyap and GV Prakash Kumar had previously worked together as director and music composer, respectively. Prakash had provided background scores for films like Gangs of Wasseypur 1 and 2. They also collaborated on the movie Ugly, where Prakash composed musical tracks.
The mutual admiration between the two artists has led them to collaborate as director and actor. Although an official confirmation is pending, the platform for the series is also being kept under wraps.
Actor-composer GV Prakash Kumar was last seen in the film Dear, a romantic drama featuring Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role and directed by Anand Ravichandran.
In addition to Kingston, GV Prakash is lined up to star in films like Idimuzhakkam and 13, as well as showcase his musical talents in Chiyaan Vikram’s Thangalaan, scheduled for release on August 15.
He is also working on various other projects including Lucky Baskhar, Robin Hood, Amaran, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, Vanangaan, and Veera Dheera Sooran.
Anurag Kashyap is currently involved in projects like One 2 One in Tamil and his Malayalam debut Rifle Club, directed by Aashiq Abu.
