Dwayne Johnson Emphasizes the Need for Mental Health Check-Ins in Support of World Mental Health Day: ‘Everyone Is Battling Demons’
Dwayne Johnson is urging people to prioritize their mental health and that of those around them. The Moana star took to Instagram on World Mental Health Day to share a video discussing the importance of checking in on loved ones and reaching out when in need.
“Everybody is fighting demons, and a lot of people keep it in. A lot of people don’t talk about it, and I learned that, in many cases, the hard way over the years,” he said. “So when I check in with my friends, I don’t check in and say, ‘Hey, what’s wrong?’ I check in and say, ‘How’s your heart? How are you feeling?’”
The Rock emphasized the impact of simple check-ins and shared his personal experience of struggling with mental health. He stressed the importance of reaching out to others and being mindful of one’s own well-being.
Johnson highlighted the significance of checking in on friends, loved ones, and even strangers. He shared how being able to connect with others is a superpower and can make a difference in someone’s life.
The actor has been vocal about his own mental health journey, including battling depression multiple times. He credits his daughters for being a source of strength during tough times.
