Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Accompany Daughters Hazel and Violet to US Open Women’s Final: Check Out the Photos!
Emily Blunt and John Krasinsky took their daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 7, to watch the US Open Women’s final this weekend. The family of four arrived at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City on Saturday, September 7, to witness Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula compete for the championship trophy.
John Krasinski wore a casual olive green sweater and a Boston Red Sox baseball cap, while Emily Blunt wore a black baseball cap and a black shirt. Hazel and Violet sat between their parents, often switching seats with the youngest sitting on either parent’s lap. Sabalenka ended up winning with a score of 7-5 against Pegula.
Celebrities like Tina Fey, Kevin Jonas, Flavor Flav, Al Roker, Lewis Hamilton, Emma Roberts, Shailene Woodley, Simone Biles, Cynthia Erivo, John Mayer, and Serena Williams were also in attendance at the event.
John Krasinski recently wrote, produced, and directed the animated adventure film “IF,” which also featured Emily Blunt voicing a unicorn. In an interview with PEOPLE, Krasinski mentioned how his daughters were part of the film’s creative process.
He joked that his daughters previously thought he was an accountant, while their mom was Mary Poppins and in Jungle Cruise. When pitching the idea of “IF” to them, they got excited about the concept. Real imaginary friends of his daughters also made an appearance in the film.
The pink alligator voiced by Maya Rudolph was Violet’s imaginary friend, while Hazel’s imaginary friend, a melting marshmallow, also made it in the film. John Krasinski recalled a moment when making s’mores with Hazel and how her marshmallow bursting into flames inspired the character in the film.
