Elon Musk’s Unusual Reaction to Taylor Swift’s Endorsement of Kamala Harris Sparks Internet Backlash; Social Media Users Find It Strange and Off-Putting
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is disappointed by Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris for president in the upcoming U.S. elections. Musk took to social media on Tuesday, September 10 to express his feelings, writing, “Okay Taylor… you win… I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.” This dig at Swift has been deemed bizarre and creepy by netizens.
“Am I reading this right that you are offering to have a child with Taylor Swift?” commented a user on Musk’s post, which has garnered 19 million views and multiple thousand retweets in less than three hours. Users on the platform offered to teach Musk “how to talk to women” and criticized his tweet as “creepy and weird.”
Swift’s endorsement message for Harris came after the first debate between Harris and Trump. In her Instagram post, Swift urged her followers to research the issues at hand and praised Harris as a leader who can bring calm and not chaos to America. She also appreciated Harris for choosing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
This is the second time Swift has publicly shared her political stance, with her first being in support of Joe Biden in 2020. Since Swift’s endorsement, the Harris campaign has launched friendship bracelets inspired by the tradition of Swifties trading bracelets at her concerts.
It should be noted that Musk is supporting Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
