Drake Bell Reveals Disturbing Abuse While Quiet on Set is Released
Drake Bell Recounts How Brian Peck Manipulated Him
Bell explained how Peck intentionally drove a wedge between him and his father, Joe Bell, who was also involved in the TV show and supported his son’s story. This allowed Peck to spend more time with Bell, who had a role on “The Amanda Show” before starring in his own show, “Drake & Josh,” in 2004.
Bell revealed that Peck would take him to auditions and then insist he stay overnight, claiming it was too late to go home. One night, Bell woke up on the couch (where he always slept) to find Peck sexually assaulting him.
Feeling frozen and unsure of what to do, Bell kept the abuse to himself, fearing it would end his career. Even when his then-girlfriend’s mother sensed something was wrong and took him to a therapist, Bell remained silent.
Eventually, Bell confided in his mother, who immediately contacted the police. Detectives had Bell provide a detailed account of the abuse and then orchestrated a phone call with Peck, during which he confessed to his actions. Peck was arrested on August 20, 2003.
