Drake Bell Shares Emotional Journey 6 Months after Quiet on Set
In the documentary, Drake shared how he connected with Brian, who started working at the network on All That, the acting coach, now 63. They bonded over common interests, but Drake’s father Joe Bell, who was his manager at the time, raised concerns with the network. Drake remembered Brian convincing him that his dad was a “real problem.”
“My dad made it hard for Brian to be around me,” Drake recalled in the documentary. “Brian sensed that my dad was watching, so he drove a wedge between us.”
Now a father himself to 3-year-old son Jeremy Drake Bell, with estranged wife Janet Von Schmeling, Drake hopes that his story will make a lasting impact outside the entertainment industry.
“It could happen anywhere, at school, in the workplace,” he told E!. “If your child wants to pursue something, the initial reaction shouldn’t be to stop them but to make it safe and address any issues.”
