Bridgit Mendler from Disney Channel Reveals the Tough Decisions Facing Her as a New Mother
After portraying the brainy Ren Stevens on Even Stevens, bringing Kim Possible to life, and starring in the 2002 DCOM Cadet Kelly alongside Hilary Duff, Christy Carlson Romano graced Broadway with her presence in 2004 as Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, followed by a return to the theater district in 2008 with Avenue Q.
In 2007, she authored Grace’s Turn, directed Christmas All Over Again in 2016, obtained a degree in Film Studies from Barnard College, and tied the knot with writer-producer Brendan Rooney on December 31, 2013. They are proud parents of two daughters, with the youngest born in February 2019.
Christy made a comeback to her roots in 2019 with a role in the live-action Kim Possible film as pop star Poppy Blu. Additionally, in May 2019, she candidly shared her struggles post-stardom in a poignant essay for Teen Vogue. “I have never been perfect or put together as my reputation or success in my young adulthood might suggest,” she admitted. “During a period in my life, I battled with depression, drinking, and more, desperately seeking solutions for my emotional state.”
