Emma Stone showcases her dancing skills in Kinds of Kindness trailer
Following the success of The Favourite and Poor Things, Emma Stone collaborated with Yorgos Lanthimos on the upcoming film Kinds of Kindness, which made waves at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. During an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his talk show, Stone expressed her surprise at the trailer’s reception.
After a heartwarming moment on the show where Jimmy praised her for winning two Best Actress Academy Awards, Stone delved into her experience working on Kinds of Kindness. She revealed that she is gearing up for another project with Lanthimos after the current film.
Regarding the viral dance in the trailer, which she improvised herself, Stone mentioned, “Well, it kind of happened during Poor Things. I tend to dance around a lot to keep my energy up during filming.” She shared how a casual dance on set led to the viral moment.
Stone recounted how it all began, “One day I was just kind of doing this dance on set. I think my friend Laura took a video of it, and I sent it to Yorgos, saying, ‘Here’s what we’re doing upstairs’.” The clip of her dance found its way into the Kinds of Kindness trailer

The movie synopsis reads: “Three stories follow a man taking control of his life, a policeman dealing with changes in his wife, and a woman in search of someone with special abilities.”
The star-studded cast includes Willem Dafoe, Emma Stone, Hunter Schafer, Jesse Plemons, Joe Alwyn, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, and Mamoudou Athie. The film received a standing ovation at its premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2024, with Plemons winning the Best Actor award.
Kinds of Kindness premiered in the US on June 21, 2024.
