Dhanush’s new film Raayan receives ‘A’ certificate from censorship board, promises to deliver intense action scenes
Dhanush is undeniably one of the most versatile filmmakers in the country right now. The actor is currently preparing for the release of his second directorial project, Raayan. Initially scheduled for June 13th, the film has been postponed and is now set to be released on July 26th.
Since the announcement of the project, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the film. Recently, the film’s makers held a grand audio launch in Chennai, attended by the star-studded cast and crew. In the latest update, the makers revealed on social media that Raayan has completed its censorship formalities and has been given an ‘A’ certificate by the CBFC.

What we know about Raayan so far
Raayan is only Dhanush’s second directorial venture after the 2017 film Pa Paandi. The movie features a talented ensemble cast including Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, Dushara Vijayan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and more in key roles.
The film is said to be a gangster action film, revolving around the main character’s mission to avenge his family’s murder. Raayan is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, with music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK.
Dhanush’s upcoming projects
Dhanush, apart from Raayan, will be seen in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual film Kubera directed by Sekhar Kammula. The movie also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and more. Additionally, Dhanush will collaborate with Arun Matheswaran for the biopic on Ilaiyaraaja and has announced his third directorial venture, a teen rom-com titled Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam.
