Delivery Driver Who Fatally Shot Angie Harmon’s Dog Escapes Charges
The deliveryman who fatally shot Angie Harmon’s dog over Easter weekend will not face criminal charges.
Police have provided an update on the case after the Law & Order alum revealed that a driver delivering groceries through Instacart had killed her family’s beloved German shepherd and beagle mix, Oliver, outside their home in Charlotte, N.C.
“The driver claimed that he was attacked by her dog, leading him to discharge his firearm,” a spokesperson from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told E! News on April 6. “The driver will not be charged for his actions.”
The spokesperson went on to say, “Our officers conducted a thorough investigation of the incident and concluded that no charges should be pursued. There are no other suspects being sought in this case. The investigation is now closed.”
A spokesperson from the department also informed People that despite the man’s claims of being attacked by the dog, no visible injuries were found on him by the officers.
Harmon, 51, first announced her dog’s tragic death on April 1. “This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver,” she posted on Instagram, along with photos of her beloved pet. “He delivered the food, then shot our dog.”
