Wade Wilson, also known as “Deadpool Killer,” found guilty of murdering 2 women and sentenced to death
Wade Wilson, also known as the “Deadpool Killer” due to sharing the same name as the Marvel character, has been sentenced to death for the murder of two women in Florida.
In 2019, a grand jury charged the 30-year-old with first-degree murder in the deaths of Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43. Wilson admitted to the killings following his arrest, stating that he murdered both women on October 7, 2019.
After being found guilty of the murders, a jury recommended the death penalty in June. This decision was affirmed by Lee County Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson in a hearing on August 27.
In the sentencing order, Judge Thompson described the murders as “heinous, atrocious, and cruel,” with the second murder being “cold, calculated, and premeditated.”
Wilson’s lawyer announced plans to appeal the death sentence, stating to Newsweek that his client “understands the law and he understands what it takes to override a jury recommendation.”
