“Deadpool Killer” Receives Drug Sentence Following Death Penalty for Double Homicide
A double murder wasn’t the only criminal case brought against Wade Wilson, known as the “Deadpool Killer,” in recent years.
Appearing in a Florida court on Aug. 29, the 30-year-old pleaded no contest to smuggling drugs in jail last year while awaiting his sentencing for the 2019 first-degree murders of Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43. He was handed the death penalty for both murders on Aug. 27.
As part of a plea deal in response to 2023 felony charges of attempted drug trafficking, Wilson was sentenced to 12 years in prison for each count and fined $50,000. These prison terms will run concurrently with his two death sentences. Additionally, charges related to an alleged prison escape attempt by Wilson in 2010 were dropped as part of the agreement, as reported by NBC2, citing the Florida State Attorney’s Office.
