Darren Waller’s Taylor Swift Super Bowl comment may provoke reaction from Travis Kelce
Darren Waller has just become the most unpopular NFL player overnight – at least in the eyes of Taylor Swift fans – after claiming she should not receive a genuine Super Bowl ring from the Kansas City Chiefs. The New York Giants star suggested the Chiefs should reserve their genuine priceless jewelry for members of the squad, rather than famous fans like Swift.
Andy Reid‘s side secured a 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers to clinch their second consecutive NFL Championship, becoming the first team since the New England Patriots in 2004 to retain the Vince Lombardi trophy.

The 34-year-old has been a regular presence in the VIP suite for the Chiefs this season and gave her boyfriend Travis Kelce a famous peck on the field after watching the tight end help them to victory.
All eyes were on Swift in the build-up to the game on February 11 as she celebrated with her friends Blake Lively and Kylie Kelce, who is married to Jason Kelce, Travis‘ brother.
But Giants tight end Waller thinks that’s just not enough to reward her with some big diamonds and said the honor should be reserved for those stepping out in the team’s uniform onto the field.
When asked by a TMZ Sports reporter if he felt Swift deserved a ring, he replied: “[the] people [who deserve it are] in meetings, on the field, like, really in the trenches, you know?”
However, it wasn’t all negative. The 31-year-old did say there would be nothing wrong with giving the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer a replica of Kelce‘s jewels if he felt inclined to do so.
A Swift fan
Even when considering the match-going “dads and Chads”, as Swift once famously remarked, there won’t have been more dedicated fans than Swift for the Chiefs this season.
The 14-time Grammy winner attended 13 games in total since she started dating Kelce in September, including all of their postseason games and, of course, making a last-minute dash around the globe to see the Super Bowl.
Given that she traveled through nine timezones on an exhausting 11-hour flight from Japan just to see her other half play a football game, it’s fair to say Swift deserves something as recognition for her support.
