Emma Slater of “Dancing With the Stars” sheds light on her rehearsal ankle injury.
Emma Slater has exited the dance floor.
After the Dancing With the Stars pro was eliminated along with celebrity partner Reginald VelJohnson during week three of season 33, the 35-year-old revealed an injury that will prevent her from performing in the show’s Oct. 15 episode.
“So, this happened today,” Emma said in an Oct. 14 Instagram Story video, displaying her wrapped left ankle. “That’s my left ankle. I was rehearsing—we did a bumper rehearsal this morning.”
And though she is not clumsy, she explained how the injury occurred.
“I just came out of a lift trick,” she recounted. “I thought it was okay, but evidently it didn’t go well because my foot hit the floor and rolled over.”
Later, Emma—without revealing the exact diagnosis—mentioned that she will be using crutches for now.
“I had my MRI this morning,” she stated. “There’s some swelling. All good, could be worse, could be better. But I believe I’ll recover quickly because, I don’t know. Gotta stay positive!”
