Crumbl Customers Upset After Purchasing Illegally Imported Cookies
TikTokers Matt Howard and Abby Howard are facing backlash for leaving toddlers in a cruise ship cabin.
So much for a sweet treat.
Organizers behind an unofficial Crumbl Cookies pop-up shop in Sydney, Australia, are receiving backlash after it came to light that the baked goods sold at the pop-up were imported in bulk from the U.S. and resold at a significantly higher price.
Dessert enthusiasts eagerly lined up on September 29 for the opportunity to purchase the popular treats in North Bondi for $17.50 AUD (approximately $12 USD) each. However, many attendees were disappointed with the stale taste of the cookies.
While sharing her experience at the pop-up, TikToker Sofia Qistina noted that she felt uneasy about the event not being officially endorsed by the cookie company based in Utah.
“In terms of freshness, I would give it a 0 out of 5,” she mentioned in a second video as she sampled the treats with a friend. “Was it worth waiting in line for 45 minutes? Perhaps because there is no Crumbl establishment here, but on the other hand, people were arguing in line, and the cookies cost $17.”
