CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz Issues Apology for Significant Tech Outage
CrowdStrike apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
Following a failed update at the cybersecurity firm that led to major tech outages on July 19, affecting airports, banks, and other major companies worldwide, the company’s CEO addressed concerns with a sincere apology.
“It wasn’t a cyberattack,” reassured CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz on Today July 19, attributing the issue to a faulty update impacting Microsoft Windows users. “It was related to this content update, and as you might imagine, we’ve been working with our customers all night to resolve it. Many customers are rebooting their systems, and they are back in operation.”
Although some systems are still affected by the global outage, Kurtz assured, “We are committed to restoring all customers to their previous state and ensuring their protection against malicious activities.”
In addition, Kurtz expressed, “We deeply regret the impact on our customers, travelers, and anyone affected by this situation.”
