Colleen Hoover’s Verity Set to Hit the Big Screen as a Movie
Another Colleen Hoover book is receiving the Hollywood treatment.
Just three months before the debut of the Blake Lively-led It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of Hoover’s popular 2016 novel of the same title, another movie based on her stand-alone thriller Verity is in development at Amazon MGM Studios, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Hoover herself confirmed the project by sharing the article on her Instagram Story on May 1.
There have been no announcements regarding the cast or director yet. However, THR mentions that Hillary Seitz, known for her work on thrillers such as Insomnia, Eagle Eye, and The Unforgivable, is penning the screenplay. Additionally, Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund are reportedly on board as producers.
Initially self-published by Hoover in 2018, Verity follows the story of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired by the husband of best-selling author Verity Crawford to complete her unfinished novels while she is comatose after a mysterious accident. As Lowen delves into Verity’s unfinished memoir, she uncovers unsettling revelations about her hidden life, including the truth about her deceased daughter. Caught up in conflicting emotions for Verity’s husband, Lowen must navigate through the blurred lines between fiction and the family’s complicated reality.
