Claudia Oshry Reveals Side Effects of Stopping Ozempic
Ozempic is no laughing matter for the comedian. Handler disclosed that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed her the medication without knowing its full effects.
“I was unaware that I was taking it,” she shared during the Jan. 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy. “She mentioned, ‘If you ever want to shed a few pounds, this is a good option.'”
Although she experimented with the medication, Handler admitted that she didn’t enjoy how it made her feel.
“After returning from a trip, I administered the injection,” she remembered. “A few days later, during lunch with a friend, she mentioned feeling nauseous due to being on Ozempic. I realized I was experiencing similar symptoms, but attributed it to jet lag after my trip to Spain.”
Ultimately, Handler decided to discontinue the use of Ozempic as it was not a medical necessity for her. She gave away the remaining doses to friends.
“I ended up injecting four or five of my friends with Ozempic because I found it unnecessary and somewhat frivolous,” she explained. “It is designed for individuals struggling with weight issues. I began scheduling appointments with my friends, allocating different times for each.”
