Citadel: Samantha Ruth Prabhu warns that confidentiality is not guaranteed when sharing information with Varun Dhawan in Honey Bunny
Samantha Ruth Prabhu is appreciated by her fans for her straightforward nature. During an interview, she revealed that her co-star Varun Dhawan was quickly briefed about the show Citadel: Honey Bunny before the shooting commenced. Samantha was surprised that the directors entrusted Varun with crucial information, knowing that he may not keep it confidential.
Samantha, who has had a successful career in the South Indian film industry, recently interacted with News18 Showsha. The actress, who is set to star in Citadel: Honey Bunny, had previously collaborated with the show’s directors on the web series The Family Man 2. At that time, they had already started planning for an Indian version of Citadel, but Samantha was unaware of it. In contrast, Varun Dhawan was well-informed about the key aspects of their upcoming project.
Recalling the incident, the South Indian superstar mentioned, “They had shared a picture with the Russo Brothers, indicating their collaboration. But all I knew was that. I had no information about the series or its universe.”
Dhawan, known for his straightforward approach, approached Raj and DK, expressing his interest in a collaboration. Since they were developing the show, he became involved before the actress.
Upon joining the project, Samantha was surprised to learn how the actor had access to information even though he couldn’t keep it to himself. She remarked, “We, ordinary people, had to wait for years to be granted such access!”
The Shaakuntalam actress playfully teased the director duo, who shared details with Dhawan despite knowing that the information wouldn’t remain confidential. Samantha expressed, “They are aware that Varun is not good at keeping secrets, yet they choose to disclose everything to him. I just don’t understand that!”
Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian installment of the Citadel series featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Varun Dhawan, Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, and others. The trailer has been released, and the series is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on November 7.
