Christina Applegate Struggling with Unpleasant Sapovirus Symptoms Following Food Contamination
Christina Applegate is openly discussing a challenging experience.
The Dead to Me star vividly described her recent encounter with sapovirus, a virus commonly spread through fecal-oral contact, humorously mentioning that the illness caused her to “pee out of my butt for a few days.”
“I’m going to be a bit graphic,” Christina—who also battles multiple sclerosis—revealed on the April 23rd installment of her MeSsy podcast. “I woke up at 3 o’clock in the morning covered in feces. I didn’t realize it happened, and dealing with MS at 3 o’clock in the morning while trying to change your sheets is no fun.”
Christina explained that the health crisis began a few weeks ago when someone very close to her “dropped the ball” and brought home COVID-19, resulting in her contracting the virus for the first time. Because of her preexisting immunocompromised state from MS, Christina endured more severe symptoms, including a chest infection and a rapid heart rate.
“I was incredibly dizzy,” she recounted to co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler. “I was extremely ill. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t do anything.”
