Christie Brinkley Reveals Skin Cancer Diagnosis
Christie Brinkley is opening up about her health.
The iconic model revealed that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer. Luckily, her medical team was able to address it promptly.
“The good news is that we caught the basal cell Carcinoma early,” she shared on Instagram on March 13. She also posted a series of photos documenting the surgery to remove the cancerous mole. “I was fortunate to have skilled Doctors who handled the situation expertly, leaving me with flawless stitches akin to haute couture Dior.”
According to Christie, a mother to Alexa Ray Joel (38) with ex-husband Billy Joel, as well as Sailor Brinkley-Cook (25) and Jack Brinkley-Cook (28) with ex-husband Peter Cook, the cancer was actually discovered during a routine visit with one of her daughters.
“During the appointment, the Doctor meticulously examined each freckle using a magnifying glass,” she explained. “Even though it wasn’t my appointment, I eventually asked him to take a look at a tiny spot I had felt while applying foundation. Without hesitation, he performed a biopsy on the spot!”
