Charity Responds to Doubts Over Legitimacy of Autographed Items from Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift
A charity in Guelph, Ontario has raised concerns about the authenticity of items auctioned off last month, including a football jersey signed by Kansas City player Travis Kelce and musician Taylor Swift.
The auction took place during a private curling bonspiel organized by Linamar, a Guelph-based automotive parts manufacturer. Most items were only available to those in attendance.
One item that garnered significant attention was the football jersey signed by Kelce and Swift, which was later posted for online auction and sold for $21,000. However, doubts have been raised about the authenticity of the signatures.
The charity is urging winners to contact the event organizers with any concerns about the items they won.
The Guelph Wish Fund for Children released a statement on social media clarifying that the items were donated at a third-party event, making verification of authenticity difficult.
We are aware of the continued publicity surrounding the Curling for Kids Bonspiel Fundraiser held on February 17th and appreciate the community’s interest in supporting our cause.

“As a result, we are currently unable to verify the authenticity of these items and ask any winning bidders with concerns or questions to please reach out to the event organizers,” the group stated.
“Our organization is committed to transparency and apologizes for any confusion. This event was organized by dedicated volunteers in our community, and we appreciate their efforts in supporting our cause.”
