Chandu Champion: Kartik Aaryan Reflects on Scary Encounter with Explosion near Eye on Set

During the shooting of Chandu Champion, Kartik shared an incident that could have injured his eye.
Kartik Aaryan discusses preparing for a war scene in Chandu Champion
In a recent interview with Zoom, Kartik Aaryan recounted a moment while rehearsing for a war scene in Chandu Champion. He mentioned experiencing an explosion on set which left him frightened.
Describing the scene, Kartik said, “All of us are running and there is an explosion. Just as I was supposed to reach a certain point after running, the explosion was meant to happen on my right side.”
“The timing was off during rehearsal, so when I reached that spot, the explosion went off at that exact moment. It hit near my right eye,” he added.
Kartik recalled how scary the incident was as he couldn’t open his eyes for some time. His right eye was covered in explosive particles, but fortunately, they weren’t sharp enough to cause any harm. Though nothing serious occurred, Kartik admitted to being really scared during the mishap.
The 33-year-old actor mentioned that they took a break, got his eyes washed, and sought medical help from a team on set before continuing rehearsals.
