Celine Dion Hopes to Inspire with New Documentary
During the screening, Dion expressed to The Hollywood Reporter her desire to help those facing hardships. Through her documentary, she aims to inspire viewers by sharing her experiences, health journey, and how her illness has impacted her life.
Dion emphasized the importance of being a mother and taking care of her health for her children, stating, “I’ve been an open book all my life. They need to know I’m not here by myself after 40-something years of a career.”
Dion acknowledged that many people feel alone or struggle, but she hopes her documentary will show she is there for them as a mother, an artist, and a supporter of others.
The Canadian singer shared her journey of feeling lost but finding strength, declaring, “I didn’t want that anymore. I don’t think I deserved that. My kids especially did not deserve that.”

In December 2022, Dion announced on social media her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome, a rare disease that she has been battling. She revealed experiencing symptoms of the disorder during her Taking Chances World Tour in 2008.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Dion explained her decision to keep her diagnosis private until she understood her health situation better.
