Céline Dion surprises fans by appearing at NHL Draft despite ongoing health struggles
Dion recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with a rare progressive neurological disorder known as stiff-person syndrome. This condition is not well-known among the general population.
In a video on Instagram, Dion shared, “I have always been open about my life. It was difficult for me to talk about this before, but now I am ready. I have been struggling with health issues for some time now, and facing these challenges has been tough.”
Dion described how muscle spasms have greatly impacted her daily life, affecting her ability to walk at times. Unfortunately, this condition has forced her to cancel her upcoming tour plans.
Despite the challenges, Dion is determined to regain her strength and ability to perform with the help of her sports medicine therapist. She acknowledged, “The journey to recovery has not been easy.”
According to the National Institutes of Health, symptoms of stiff-person syndrome include stiffness in the muscles of the torso, arms, and legs, as well as increased sensitivity to noise, touch, and emotional stress, all of which can trigger muscle spasms.
