Remo D’Souza and Lizelle accused of defrauding dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore: Here’s the story
Remo D’Souza is a well-known Indian choreographer with a long history in the industry. He has also worked as a director, producer, and actor. Recently, he found himself in legal trouble after being accused of cheating. Reports indicated that Remo, along with his wife Lizelle D’Souza, were involved in a case where they allegedly cheated a dance troupe out of Rs 11.96 crore.
The news agency PTI reported that a 26-year-old dancer filed a complaint against Remo D’Souza and Lizelle D’Souza, along with several others, leading to a police case being registered in the Thane district of Maharashtra. The allegations include forgery and cheating, with the complainant claiming that the dance troupe was deceived between 2018 and July 2024, after winning a reality TV show where the accused claimed the prize money as their own.
Aside from Remo and Lizelle, other individuals named in the case include Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, and Ramesh Gupta. An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
Remo D’Souza, known for his work on Dance India Dance and his extensive choreography in films, is gearing up for the premiere of his directorial venture “Be Happy” on Amazon Prime Videos, featuring a star-studded cast.
