Cara Delevingne Offers Emotional Tips for Maintaining Sobriety
During May of 2023, the former One Direction member marked a significant milestone by celebrating 100 days of sobriety.
“I feel incredible,” he expressed. “I feel really, really good, and the support from the fans and everyone has been amazing.”
His struggle with addiction began during the peak of One Direction’s popularity. “The issue we faced in the band – and I don’t hold anyone responsible for this…But it felt like, when we were in the band, the best way to keep us safe, due to our immense success, was to confine us in a room. And of course, what is typically found in that room? A minibar,” Liam revealed. “So eventually, I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to have a party by myself,’ and that behavior continued for many years.”
Throughout his journey, he has been open about his path to sobriety. “It wasn’t until I saw myself afterwards that I realized, ‘Okay, I need to make a change,'” he recounted in June 2021 when he disclosed that he had been sober for over a month. “I saw a few pictures of myself on a boat, looking bloated, and I referred to it as pills-and-booze face…My face was significantly more swollen than it is now. And I simply didn’t like who I had become, so I decided to make a change.”
