The Met Gala Dress Worn by Camila Cabello is Adorned with 250,000 Crystals and Weighs 15 Pounds
Camila Cabello didn’t simply walk the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala, she literally lifted weight on it.
The talented “Havana” singer disclosed that her stunning gold gown for the event weighed over 15 pounds and was meticulously crafted over 450 hours. “The dress is incredibly heavy,” Camila commented during an interview with Ross Mathews on Live From E!: Met Gala May 6, elaborating on the collaboration she and her stylist Jared Ellner had with designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin.
However, the weighty attire wasn’t the only distinguishing feature that set the 27-year-old apart from the crowd. Instead of carrying a typical clutch, Camila opted for a purse made entirely of ice, with a delicate rose at its center.
“My hands are freezing,” she remarked, mentioning that she planned to hand it off to someone else once she completed her ascent up the stairs. “I can’t even feel my hands.”
