Ananya Panday reveals her experience of ‘internal acting’ on the first day of shooting post Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and CTRL

Ananya Panday is gearing up for her debut on OTT with the upcoming web series, Call Me Bae. However, before starting the shoot for Colin D’Cunha’s show, she was also involved in projects like Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and the yet-to-be-released movie, CTRL. This resulted in a slight adjustment period for her on the set of the eight-episode series. In an interview, she mentioned how she initially focused on internal acting on the first day of filming.

During a conversation with PTI, Ananya Panday reflected on her experience working with the director of Call Me Bae. She shared that she started off with more subtle acting, describing it as “internal acting.” However, Colin D’Cunha pointed out that this approach wouldn’t work for the series and encouraged her to bring more energy to her performance. It took them a couple of days to find the right balance, but eventually, they found their groove and completed shooting the series, set to premiere on Prime Video on September 6, 2024.

She also expressed how refreshing it was to work on the web series, emphasizing the fun and camaraderie on set after her involvement in Vikramaditya Motwane’s thriller, CTRL, and the 2023 coming-of-age drama, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.

Call Me Bae, a comedy-drama TV series written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, follows the story of a wealthy Delhi girl who loses everything and must navigate the challenges of life in Mumbai. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment under Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta’s supervision and directed by Colin, the series boasts an impressive cast including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, and others.

Aside from her role in Call Me Bae, Ananya Panday will also appear in the upcoming project CTRL alongside Vihaan Samat. The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on October 4, 2024. Currently, she is busy shooting for her next venture titled Shankara.
