Nicola Coughlan had a fangirl moment at the 2024 Emmys when she crossed paths with Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet. She couldn’t contain her excitement and gushed about her admiration for Rachel from Friends.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, the 37-year-old Bridgerton star shared that it was her first time at the Hollywood charity gala, and meeting Aniston made the event even more surreal for her.
During the photo session, Coughlan turned to her left and found herself face to face with Jennifer Aniston. Recognizing Aniston’s voice, she was instantly starstruck.
Aniston, 55, known for her role in Friends and nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series for The Morning Show, left a lasting impression on Coughlan.
Despite being familiar with the glamour of press tours and events, standing next to Aniston made Coughlan feel like a fan in awe of a show. She exclaimed, “Jennifer Aniston was standing right beside me. I heard her voice, and I gasped!”
Feeling overwhelmed being so close to Aniston, Coughlan confessed, “I am normally quite ok, but I mean, she’s Rachel! She’s perfect!”
Earlier in the evening, Coughlan had the honor of presenting Lamorne Morris with the Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Anthology series or Movie award. But the highlight of her night was her unexpected encounter with Aniston. Like many fans, Coughlan was thrilled just to see Aniston, especially since she grew up adoring Rachel Green.
