Bridgerton Season 4 Unveils Luke Thompson as the Seductive New Lead: A First Look
What About Francesca Bridgerton?
Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) is often thought of as the overlooked Bridgerton sibling, not due to lack of love from her family, but because she, like in the show, prefers a quieter life.
In the book series, it is mentioned in passing that Francesca found her husband seven years before the timeline of Penelope and Colin. However, executive producer Shonda Rhimes and the team have decided to merge some book plots involving Francesca, Colin, and Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) in the search for love in season three.
In the TV series, Francesca becomes the “diamond” of Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) season and is courted by Lord Samadani (David Mumeni) chosen by the Queen and her preferred suitor, John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli). Although Queen Charlotte is not a character in the books, the monarch, showcased with her amazing headpieces, never names a “diamond” in any season.
Fortunately, Francesca and John find the perfect match in each other and have a small wedding at home, a scene not depicted in the books. The couple then moves to Scotland where their story unfolds. Without revealing spoilers about Francesca’s future, readers who are curious can dive deeper into her story in the sixth Bridgerton book, When He Was Wicked.
