Drake Bell Describes How Brian Peck Got Him Alone
Bell recounted how Peck intentionally created distance between him and his father, Joe Bell, who also appears in the ID series and supports his son’s story. This allowed Peck to spend more time with the teenage Drake, who had a recurring role on “The Amanda Show” before landing his own sitcom, “Drake & Josh,” in 2004.
According to Bell, Peck would take him to auditions and then insist that he stay overnight, claiming it was too late to drive him home. One night, Bell woke up on the couch, where he always slept, to find Peck sexually assaulting him.
“I froze in shock, unsure of how to react or escape the situation,” Bell recalled. He mentioned that Peck apologized, but the abuse continued. Bell kept silent, even when his then-girlfriend’s mother suspected something was wrong and took him to a therapist. Bell feared his career would be ruined if he spoke up.
Eventually, Bell confided in his mother, who immediately contacted the police. Detectives had him provide a detailed account of the abuse and then orchestrated a phone call with Peck, during which Peck confessed to his actions. Peck was arrested on August 20, 2003, as a result.
