Steve Burns, Host of Blue’s Clues, Responds to False Death Rumors
The reports of Steve Burns’ passing have been greatly exaggerated.
Despite ongoing online speculation about the original Blue’s Clues host’s sudden demise following his departure from the children’s show in 2002, Steve is alive and well.
Although the rumors portrayed various tragedies Steve allegedly encountered, they did have an impact.
In an interview with the New York Times published on Sept. 18, Steve mentioned how being believed dead turned him into somewhat of an urban legend, which was hurtful. He also noted the internet was still evolving at the time, catching everyone off guard with the level of consensus it generated.
Even occasional public appearances failed to dispel the rumor’s widespread belief.
Steve shared, “When millions of people think you’re deceased for 15 years, it’s unsettling.”
