Olivia Wilde Almost Landed Blake Lively’s Role in Sisterhood
Blake Lively almost missed out on the opportunity to wear the magical pants in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Producer Debra Martin Chase recently shared details about the casting process for the 2005 movie, revealing that the role of Bridget Vreeland, which ultimately went to Blake Lively, was initially considered for Mischa Barton. She also mentioned that Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk was a potential candidate for Alexis Bledel‘s character, Lena Kaligaris.
However, Mischa was unavailable due to her commitment to filming the popular TV series The O.C., and the production of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was delayed due to another film. This led to the need to recast several roles due to scheduling conflicts.
Debra explained, “We started all over,” revealing that Kaley Cuoco, Alexa PenaVega, and Olivia Wilde were considered for various roles, with Olivia Wilde being on “the shortlist.” She added, “We saw everybody.”
