Pankaj Kapur opens up about bridging the communication gap with his children in Binny And Family: Shahid Kapoor’s father shares his journey
Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, who recently appeared in the web series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, is currently engaged in promotional activities. Following his role in the crime thriller series, he is set to be seen in Anjini Dhawan’s debut film, Binny And Family, which will be released in theaters soon. Pankaj Kapur recently opened up about his relationship with his son Shahid Kapoor and how he bridged the communication gap with his three children, Shahid, Sarah Kapoor, and Ruhaan Kapoor.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Pankaj Kapur was asked about his relationship with Shahid Kapoor and how he managed to overcome any communication barriers.
Pankaj Kapur responded, “I don’t think like that because children come in odd ages, so you should remember that you also went through the same age and what your phase was like…So you are open about it.”
Discussing his children, Pankaj shared that he has always been open with Shahid Kapoor, Sarah Kapoor, and Ruhaan Kapoor, considering himself more like a friend to them. He attributed this quality of openness to his father, with whom he also shared a friendly bond.
Having imbibed these values from his father, Pankaj mentioned that he has allowed his children to live their lives according to their wishes, even if he may not fully understand it at the time. He emphasized that he has not hindered their ability to make friends.
The 70-year-old actor stressed that older generations should acknowledge that today’s generation may know more than them in certain aspects, except for experience and wisdom. He emphasized the importance of younger generations learning from their elders, while also encouraging parents and grandparents to be open to embracing new ideas.
Binny And Family features Varun Dhawan’s niece Anjini Dhawan in her debut role, along with Pankaj, Rajesh Kumar, and Himani Shivpuri. Directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, the film is scheduled to release on September 20 this year.
