Billy Ray Cyrus claims ex-wife Firerose was verbally abusive during their marriage and more in divorce proceedings
A representative for Firerose, who previously accused Billy Ray of “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse” in court documents filed on June 14, responded to the new filings by denying his allegations in a statement to E! News on June 25.
The statement claimed, “His narrative continues to change, and this latest filing is merely a tactic to divert attention from the serious accusations made against him. The only individuals supporting his false claims are those who are financially motivated and their credibility is questionable.”
The representative also addressed Firerose’s possession of the BRCA1 gene mutation, stating, “Questioning a BRCA-positive woman’s decision to undergo preventative surgery demonstrates the type of abusive manipulation Firerose endured.”
Following Firerose’s accusations against Billy Ray, his attorneys, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, issued a response to E! News, expressing regret that the matter was being litigated in the press. They clarified that Firerose’s accusation was “confusing and suspicious in its truthfulness,” as she had asked Billy Ray to forgive her and reconcile just two days after he initiated divorce proceedings.
Continued coverage will delve into the details of Billy Ray and Firerose’s past relationship.
