Captain Sandy Yawn from ‘Below Deck Med’ ties the knot with Leah Schafer
Sandy Yawn is embarking on her next adventure.
The Below Deck Mediterranean Captain has tied the knot with Leah Shafer after over five years of dating in a yacht ceremony in Fort Lauderdale.
“On May 11th, 2024 I married the love of my life,” Sandy, 59, shared in a May 14 Instagram post. “I had no idea how wonderful marriage could be! It feels amazing and I feel incredibly lucky. I love you, Leah Rae Yawn!!”
She added, “Thank you for taking my name! Thank you to our entire family and friends for showing love and support for our relationship.”
She also assured fans, “Yes, it was filmed. Thank you to our Bravo family. We appreciate you.”
Aside from cameras, Sandy’s network family was also involved in her special day—Below Deck Med showrunner Nadine Rajabi officiated the ceremony, with crew members Aesha Scott, Kate Chastain, and Dave White present. Dave also served as both a guest and the chef for the couple’s wedding menu, which featured short ribs and a three-tiered, gluten-free vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry cake according to The New York Times.
