Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Admiration for Shannen Doherty Will Charm You
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shannen Doherty‘s friendship is truly delightful.
Following Doherty’s revelation about her conflict with Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress expressed her solidarity with her longtime friend.
“It was a challenging period,” Gellar shared with E! News in an exclusive interview. “I witnessed it firsthand. Shannen is speaking her truth openly right now.”
“What’s remarkable about her is that, flaws and all, she’s being authentic,” the 46-year-old added. “I will stand by her. I understand it wasn’t easy, but she has evolved as a person.”
Just last December, co-star Holly Marie Combs claimed that Milano issued an ultimatum to have Doherty removed from the show, an accusation Milano refutes.
Gellar is particularly proud of the person Doherty has become today, especially as she battles stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her bones.
“Our bond has deepened as we have both matured,” the former WB colleague reflected. “Life brings complications, and we have faced them together, allowing us to grow alongside each other.”
