Producer Ramesh Taurani addresses Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Row, expresses his trust in Vashu Bhagnani amid Merry Christmas controversy
Jackky Bhagnani and his father Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have been involved in controversy recently. They came under scrutiny after crew members of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan accused the company of not paying dues when the movie did not perform well at the box office. Now, film producer Ramesh Taurani has spoken out in support of the Bhagnanis.
Producers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan faced backlash when non-cast and crew members of the movie claimed that they had not been paid by Pooja Entertainment. After the film’s failure at the box office, technical crew members alleged that Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani did not pay their salaries. However, in a recent interview with The Indian Express, Ramesh Taurani, co-founder of Tips Industries, expressed his confidence in the production company.
Taurani stated that any issues between the crew and the producers of BMCM would be resolved and they would move forward. He mentioned that he did not believe Vashu Bhagnani would engage in such behavior as he has been in the industry since 1995 and has never heard of such incidents involving him. Taurani believes it is a misunderstanding that will be resolved.
The controversy escalated when the film’s director Ali Abbas Zafar accused Bhagnani of owing him Rs 7.30 crores. This led to involvement from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Other filmmakers like Tinu Desai and Vikas Bahl also raised complaints about unpaid dues from the production company.
The producers then filed a police complaint against Zafar, claiming misappropriation of funds. Netflix also responded to Pooja Entertainment’s claims, stating that they actually owe money to Netflix and are working with authorities to resolve the dispute.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in April 2024 and stars Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ronit Roy.
