Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari and starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk, had a promising start at the box office on the opening day, with early estimates indicating a net collection of Rs 8.25 – 8.75 crores. This could potentially be the biggest opening for a film starring Vicky Kaushal. The word of mouth for Bad Newz is positive, and it is expected to have an opening weekend collection of around Rs 34-35 crore, which is considered encouraging for a film of its size.
Bad Newz Collects Rs 8.50 Crore Approximately On The Opening Day In India; It’s A Good Start
Bad Newz had decent advance bookings, selling over 50,000 tickets for the opening day in top cinema chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis. It also had fair bookings in other cinema chains. The film met expectations by opening in the Rs 8-10 crore range. Movies that have opened to similar numbers in the past have gone on to collect around Rs 80 crore in total, so this could be a target for Bad Newz as well.
Bad Newz Will Have To Manage Most Of Its Business In The First Week
Unlike other films in 2024 that had long runs, Bad Newz may face tough competition as Deadpool And Wolverine are set to release next week. The film is expected to have the second best opening for an Indian film in 2024, following Kalki 2898 AD. While Bad Newz will still attract Hindi audiences, many may prefer to watch the Hindi dub of the superhero film instead.
