Arshad Warsi believes some actors are overpaid while others suffer: ‘Actors shouldn’t be receiving such high pay’
Arshad Warsi, a veteran actor appearing in Ahmed Khan’s Welcome To The Jungle, has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for over thirty years. Known for his roles in films like Munna Bhai MBBS, Golmaal, and Ishqiya, Warsi recently commented on the disparity in pay among actors in the industry. He believes that some actors are overpaid, causing issues for others in the industry. According to him, these overpaid stars should not be receiving such hefty amounts.
In a recent interview with Samdish Bhatia on UNFILTERED by Samdish, Arshad Warsi expressed his concerns about the current payscale in Bollywood. He mentioned, “I feel that what is being received is so much more than what should be received, that is the problem. I feel that the payscale has become so high that it has put a line between A and B.”
He added, “There are some actors who are making a lot of money, and to compensate them others are suffering.” Warsi also shared an incident where Jaya Bachchan called him out for his airport attire, urging him to dress more appropriately.
Aside from Welcome To The Jungle, Arshad Warsi is also set to star in Jolly LLB 3, the third installment of the popular franchise. He has also ventured into web series, including Asur and Modern Love: Mumbai. The second season of Asur was released in 2023.
