Ariana Grande Speaks Out About Media Focus on Relationship with Ethan Slater
Ariana Grande is choosing not to pay attention to any gossip.
However, the “Yes, And?” singer, whose relationship with Wicked costar Ethan Slater made headlines last summer, acknowledges that she can’t entirely escape from false narratives.
“We need to remember that tabloids often create stories about individuals, particularly women, based on whether they like them or not,” Ariana explained during the Feb. 26 episode of the Zach Sang Show. “We need to remember that. We need to make room for humanity, for complexity. They don’t make room for that—unless it’s for their loved ones. It’s selective. But they ignore it when it doesn’t match the image of a person they want to believe in.”
Despite her desire to clarify these rumors, the two-time Grammy winner confessed that she simply doesn’t have “enough time” to address them all.
“I think we don’t need to get into specifics,” she added. “But there’s an intense frustration, a feeling of frustration and suffering, watching people misinterpret the people you care about, including yourself.”
