Ranbir Kapoor teamed up with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the blockbuster action-drama film Animal. The movie received lots of love from the audience and even a year after its theatrical release, it remains a hot topic of discussion.
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi also praised Kapoor’s performance in the film, highlighting his portrayal of a complex character with great conviction.

Emraan Hashmi made his acting debut with Footpath in 2003 and gained fame with the 2004 film Murder. Recently, he impressed audiences with his portrayal of the antagonist Aatish Rehman in Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
During a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Hashmi expressed his admiration for Ranbir Kapoor and his performance in Animal. He admitted to not watching Kapoor’s earlier ‘chocolate boy phase’ films but was impressed by his portrayal of a grey character in Animal.
Hashmi praised Kapoor for playing a character with shades of grey and complexity with dedication and conviction, calling it commendable.

In the same interview, Hashmi discussed how artists often get typecast based on certain roles or traits. He gave examples of Bollywood megastars like Shah Rukh Khan still known for his open-arms pose, Salman Khan for his shirtless scenes, and Anil Kapoor for his iconic ‘Jhakaas’ dialogue.
After appearing in a cameo in Ae Watan Mere Watan with Sara Ali Khan, Emraan Hashmi is currently busy shooting for two upcoming South Indian films.
