Actor Arshad Warsi lauds Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, expresses enjoyment watching it
Months after its release, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 film, Animal, continues to be a topic of discussion. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, Animal received mixed reactions from the audience. While some fans and film celebrities enjoyed the film, there was criticism from cinephiles for glorifying toxic masculinity and misogyny. Arshad Warsi, who is preparing for Welcome To The Jungle and Jolly LLB 3, is the latest celebrity to express his enjoyment of Vanga’s directorial.
In a recent interview on UNFILTERED by Samdish, Arshad Warsi praised Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, stating that he had never seen a world like that before.
“I have never seen that world. It is perhaps a figment of a man’s imagination. I enjoyed watching it,” Arshad said.
Arshad emphasized that films are meant for entertainment and not for educational purposes. He also mentioned how Marvel Studios’ Avengers created a new world that audiences had not seen before.
Arshad Warsi also appreciated Anurag Kashyap’s filmmaking style, noting that Kashyap presents viewers with a different world that does not bore him.
Additionally, Arshad Warsi shared his unpleasant experience on the set of Priyadarshan’s 2004 film, Hulchul. He recalled a meeting with late screenplay writer Neeraj Vora and how the reference to Hera Pheri misled him about his role in Hulchul.
Regarding Animal, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma previously praised the movie and highlighted its success at the box office compared to big-budget productions.
Other celebrities like Vidya Balan and Anurag Kashyap have also shown admiration for Animal, while Ratna Pathak Shah and Adil Hussain did not support it. The film also featured Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol in key roles.
