Bill Hader’s Romantic Gesture Persuades Ali Wong to Give Him a Chance
Ali Wong is definitely not receiving any negativity from Bill Hader.
The Beef star shared the story of how the SNL alum took a chance with her, revealing that he contacted her shortly after she filed for divorce from Justin Hakuta in April 2022.
“I received a phone call from this man whom I had met at a dinner party before, and he got my number from a mutual acquaintance,” Ali recounted during her May 12 Netflix Is a Joke Fest show, as reported by Rolling Stone. “He said, ‘Hey, I heard about your divorce news, and I have had a crush on you for a long time. I even told my best friend years ago that you were my ideal woman, and I know it may sound crazy, but I want you to be my girlfriend.'”
Mentioning that she had just finished signing up for a dating app, the Always Be My Maybe actress quipped, “I had just paid $25. You seem really nice, but I need to make the most of my investment.”
