Alan Cumming Accuses Taylor Swift of Copying His Style at VMAs
Alan Cumming remains true to his Scottish heritage.
At the 2024 Emmy Awards on September 15, the host of Traitors strolled the red carpet wearing a black kilt paired with a beige jacket, complemented by a plaid shirt with wrap detail. The Teddy Vonranson design may look familiar because it bears similarities to the plaid Dior bustier and cape ensemble worn by Taylor Swift at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on September 11. “The b–ch stole my look,” he humorously remarked to People at the Peacock Theater. “In the upcoming season, there’s a look I sport that’s quite similar, but it’s amusing that so many people have commented that Taylor Swift resembles Alan Cumming, a statement I never thought I’d hear.”
The 59-year-old already had a triumph under his belt as he graced the 76th annual award ceremony, hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy. His memorable performance on season two of the Peacock hit secured him the award for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality Competition Program at the Creative Arts Emmys on September 7, thereby putting an end to RuPaul’s eight-year domination in the category.
