Akshay Kumar Responds to Criticism on Overexposure and Making Four Films Annually: Reflects on Amitabh Bachchan’s Advice
Despite a few recent flops, Akshay Kumar has proven to be one of the most reliable stars in Bollywood. Films like Ram Setu, Selfiee, Mission Raniganj, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which didn’t perform well at the box office, serve as evidence.
Akshay signs on for multiple films each year, but he doesn’t focus on predicting their success. Instead, he chooses projects that he believes in.
Akshay Kumar talks about doing 4 films in a year
In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Akshay Kumar discussed his approach to taking on multiple films in a year. He emphasized the unpredictability of success even with longer intervals between projects.
“I’ve seen people wait and then their film doesn’t do well, and they go without work for the next year. It’s about balancing commerce and art and fulfilling audience expectations,” Akshay explained.
Referring to his strategy as a combination of ‘creativity and commerce’, Akshay acknowledged the issue of overexposure but mentioned that he has no choice but to continue working.
Akshay remembers Amitabh Bachchan’s advice
In the same interview, Akshay Kumar shared a valuable piece of advice given to him by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Recalling Big B’s words, Akshay stated that he was advised to keep working continually.
“Keep working. Don’t stop working, seize every opportunity to work,” Akshay recounted the advice from the legendary actor.
The 56-year-old actor also mentioned that Amitabh advised him to trust in his audience and not be influenced by external opinions.
