Vashu Bhagnani will have to pay after Ali Abbas Zafar and Tinu Desai file non-payment complaints: FWICE
Vashu Bhagnani’s company, Pooja Entertainment, has not yet settled payments owed to filmmakers, artists, and daily wage workers after several months. In June, Bhagnani faced a debt of Rs 250 crore due to the poor performance of films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Mission Raniganj, and Ganapath at the box office.
Filmmakers Ali Abbas Zafar and Tinu Desai recently lodged complaints about their unpaid dues against the producer. FWICE has urged Vashu Bhagnani to address these outstanding payments.
On September 22, 2024, FWICE issued a statement regarding complaints about payments not being made by Vashu Bhagnani. The organization clarified that they have received complaints from technicians, workers, artists, and vendors.
Director Tinu Desai filed a complaint for his remaining remuneration for Mission Raniganj. Ali Abbas Zafar also filed a complaint for his directorial venture, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The crew and vendors of Ganapath have also complained about their unpaid dues.
FWICE has decided that Vashu Bhagnani must settle his outstanding payments. The organization hopes that Vashu will clear all dues of artists, technicians, workers, and others in the film fraternity.
President BN Tiwari revealed that Vashu Bhagnani owes Rs 33.13 lakh to Mission Raniganj director Tinu Suresh Desai. It was also reported that Vashu has not paid the dues of 250 workers who worked on his films.
Vashu Bhagnani launched Puja Entertainment India Ltd. in 1995 and has produced several films since then.
