Adil Hussain Declares he Would Never Have Accepted Role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, Regardless of Pay Offer
Celebrated actor Adil Hussain, known for his work in movies like English Vinglish, Life of Pi, Ishqiya, and Lootera, was also part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2019 film, Kabir Singh. Hussain portrayed the role of a professor in the movie but later expressed his regret for being associated with Vanga’s direction. Sandeep responded strongly to this at the time.
Months after the cold war between Adil Hussain and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the English Vinglish actor has once again taken a swipe at the filmmaker.
Adil Hussain launches a fresh attack on Sandeep Vanga
In a new interview with Zoom, Adil Hussain shared his views on a hypothetical scenario regarding whether he would agree to play a role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal.
Adil promptly responded that he would not do it under any circumstances. “Even if they offered me Rs 100-200 crore, I would never do it,” the 60-year-old actor stated.

Adil Hussain also reacted to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s remarks about how the actor had appeared in “30 art films” and only one “blockbuster film.” Vanga was referring to Kabir Singh as the sole “blockbuster” film in Adil’s career.
In response, Adil mentioned his work in Ang Lee’s Life of Pi.
“If he is more famous than Ang Lee, I don’t know what to say… It’s very unfortunate that he thinks like that,” the actor remarked, adding, “His film had significant box office success, so perhaps he feels that way.”
Adil Hussain also emphasized that Life of Pi grossed over a billion dollars. “I don’t think he can compete with that. He should have considered that before making such statements,” Adil added.

In April, Sandeep Reddy Vanga responded to Adil Hussain’s comments about Kabir Singh on X (formerly Twitter). Vanga mentioned that he would ‘spare him from the humiliation by digitally replacing his face with AI assistance’.
“Your ‘belief’ in 30 art films did not bring you as much recognition as your ‘regret’ for one BLOCKBUSTER film did,” Vanga tweeted back then.
Regarding Animal, the film featured Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna as leads. It also included Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol in significant roles. Animal was released on December 1, 2023.
